Todd Penland (Owner and Chief Solutions Architect)
Todd Penland brings 14 years experience in a wide array of Information Technology
disciplines to his work at PENLAND.NET. As a software developer, manager, business
owner, and longtime enthusiast of all-things-IT, Todd offers a unique perspective
to every project he undertakes.
As Director of Information Technology for the Commission for Real Property Claims
of Displaced Persons and Refugees (CRPC) in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina (1997-2001),
Todd was the chief architect of an enterprise system of technology solutions (incorporating
locations in seven European countries) designed to enable the collection and resolution
of hundreds of thousands of claims by citizens who were dispossessed during the
1992-1995 war in this southeast European nation. Todd was no stranger to Bosnia,
having previously managed (as Director of Systems Development) the creation of the
software required to successfully conduct the first nationwide elections (1996)
held there following the end of the war.
After returning to his home in the United States, Todd took his life-long love of
animals to a new level, becoming a primary investor in (and senior manager of) a
new business, PETSAppeal Inc., providing products and services to pets and their
human companions in Southern California and the Seattle, Washington area. Never
content to leave his IT experience on the back burner and not satisfied with the
software available to support workers in this field, Todd threw himself headlong
into the development of custom software for this business which incorporates a number
of technologies not found in any other product. This software is currently being
redesigned into a web-based solution for release to a wider market.
In addition to his own endeavors, Todd continues to take on new projects with others
who need technology-based solutions to their own business challenges. See the
Projects Page
for more information about these ventures.
During his leisure time, Todd enjoys music of every variety, travel, reading, classic
movies, documentaries, and quiet time with friends, family, and his beloved pets.
